Gakko – guide for new students

After being admitted to the Polish-Japanese Academy of Information Technology, you will receive a welcome e-mail to the address provided during recruitment. The message from the sender “welcome@pja.edu.pl” contains information about your login to the university system and temporary password


To log in to the “GAKKO” system, you can click the red “GAKKO” inscription in the received e-mail or enter the link directly: https://gakko.pjwstk.edu.pl. You will be redirected to the login window, where you must provide the login and password consistent with the information contained in the welcome e-mail

After providing the correct login details, you will be redirected to the main page of the “electronic journal” in the GAKKO system


On the left side of the screen you will find a list of bookmarks. To return to the home page, simply click the “Dashboard” tab. The home page of the GAKKO system includes:
1. Schedule for today – displays classes scheduled for a given day along with their start times.
2. The newest marks – the latest grades that were issued at the end of the semester appear here.
3. Tasks to do – a section where you can see tasks to be completed. It is rarely used by presenters, who more often post tasks on the Microsoft Teams platform.
4. Tests to do – instructors publish tests here, failure to complete them may result in loss of points.
5. Biuro karier – a place where you can find job offers. Just choose an interesting offer and send your CV. The university also organizes meetings with employers who also publish offers here.
6. Ogłoszenia ogólne Edux – a section where important announcements are published, such as meeting dates and contact information

Edux

In the Edux tab you will find two subpages:
1. Courses list
2. General announcements – this is the same tab as block number 6 on the main page

As we can see in the screenshot, we have 4 blocks in the Edux tab:

3. Tests to do
4. Latest announcements – announcements from presenters are displayed here

Blocks 2,3 are duplicates of the blocks from the main page.

In the “List of courses” block you will find all available courses. After entering the selected course, you will see various modules related to a given subject:

After entering the selected course, you can see 5 modules:
1. Materials – contain materials provided by instructors for students
2. Grades – instructors publish grades for exercises and tests here
3. Announcements – announcements from the presenters
4. Tests – This is where you’ll find tests related to a given subject
5. Lectures – lectures are available here in recorded or written form

Deanery

There are 8 subpages in the dean’s office tab:
1. Personal data
2. Mobile student card
3. Studies history
4. OY
5. Marks history
6. Curriculum
7. Fees
8. Proforma invoice

The first tab “Personal data” contains information provided during the recruitment process, as well as the individual account number to which tuition fees should be paid.

In the second tab “mobile student card” you can order an ID card online. Just click the “Order mobile student card” button and the application will be sent automatically. Access to the e-ID should be ready within 48 hours. Information about the availability of the ID card will appear on the left, and instructions on its activation will appear on the right

The third tab “Study course” contains information about the course of studies. You can check there:
1. Current registration – the current semester we are in
2. Studies history – a list of all the semesters we’ve gone through
3. ITN courses– information about current ITNs that we implement
4. Statusy – our current student status
5. Documents – information about documents ready for collection

The fourth tab “OY” contains, among others:
– Average grade
– Mark for exam
– Practise information

The fifth tab “Marks history“, as the name suggests, contains the history of our ratings

The sixth tab, “Curriculum“, informs us about the subjects to be passed in a given semester and whether there is an examination for a given subject.

The seventh, penultimate subpage in the Dean’s Office tab is “Fees“. There you will find information about amounts due and amounts already paid.

The last tab in the “Dean’s Office” category is “Proforma Invoice“, where we can generate an invoice, for example for tuition fees

Petitions

The “Petitions” tab contains the following options:
1. New petition – we submit applications here, for example for a duplicate ID card or ITN.
2. Sent petitions – applications that are under consideration
3. Archive – a list of all our applications
4. Regulations – regulations regarding submitting applications

Schedule

The “Schedule” tab contains the following subpages:
1. General schedule – when clicked, it will display the class schedule for each lecturer and instructor on a given day
2. Group schedule – allows you to check when a given group has classes
3. Your schedule– a personal timetable where you can see when specific subjects take place

Questionnaire

At the end of the semester, a survey appears in the “Questionnaire” tab in which we can rate the teachers in various categories

Diploma examinaton

The “Diploma Examination” block contains the following sections:
1. Theses – the place where our diploma theses will be placed.
2. Reviews – reviews of our diploma theses.
3. Clearance slips – list of circulation items to complete
4. Defenses – information about final project defenses

Internships

Here we will find out how many hours of internship we still need to complete, how many hours we have already completed and when we can send documents confirming the internship.

Helpdesk

This is a block for direct contact with the GAKKO system. If you notice any errors or problems on the site, you can contact them. This block contains the following tabs:
1. New issue – the place from which we send the report
2. Issues list – list of our active reports
3. Issues archive – archive of old reports

Software

Here you will find all the software offered by the university, such as Azure, Office 365 and others

Email

Email is a block that, when clicked, takes us directly to our student mail

Suggester

Suggester is a subpage where you can submit your suggestions for improvements and changes on the GAKKO website and in the university itself to make it a better place for everyone.
